AWS Summit 2026

Attending AWS Summit 2026 last week at Pacific Place Jakarta. The crowd is super full. Some of my friends who are late are not being allowed to enter (unfortunately). I’m not sure whether the EO has miscommunication regarding the venue capacity or the total number of participants are simply too big, but this event must be one of the most famous events in Jakarta for the tech industry.

I think the theme for this summit is quite clear, they want to introduce their Nova model, Kiro agent tools, and Amazon Quick. There are some dev/playground areas regarding Kiro. Spec development itself isn’t new. We have OpenSpec and spec kit from GitHub. But Kiro bundles that into your agent editor.

Several talks that I find interesting:

  1. Kredivo uses a graph database (hosted on AWS Neptune) to help detect fraud.
  2. Kementrian ESDM builds a RAG-based application for thousands of regulation documents, with a trace of history (previous version) and hierarchical structure (from Peraturan Daerah to Peraturan Presiden, etc).
  3. PayMongo replaced their L1 support with AI, using Amazon Bedrock (core agent)
  4. Snowflake talks about how to use the Iceberg schema in AWS
  5. One company (government-owned, can’t remember the name) integrates SAP and non-SAP data to monitor their yield. This is fascinating, since my company so far wants to extract SAP data into our data warehouse, but is unable to.

Overall, albeit a little bit too crowded, the information and the network are quite useful. Met a few old friends there as well.
